Dominic Sambucco

Dominic Sambucco is an Italian-Canadian sound artist, composer, DJ, and multimedia artist whose practice explores the intersections of nature, technology, and perception.

Holding a degree in electroacoustic composition from the Université de Montréal, he creates electroacoustic music, interactive installations, experimental films, and audiovisual performances that combine acoustic instruments, field recordings, archival materials, and emerging technologies.

His DJ sets span ambient, experimental, IDM, world music, and contemporary classical music, reflecting the same cross-disciplinary approach that defines his artistic practice. He is the curator of Strong Winds Records, an independent label dedicated to experimental, ambient, and contemporary sound practices, supporting emerging artists and interdisciplinary collaborations.

His work has been presented internationally at festivals and institutions including the University of Greenwich, Ljubljana Festival, Ruina Sonora, Milano Music Week, Unarchive, Ibrida, and Cineteca di Bologna. Sambucco is the recipient of the GroundSwell Emerging Composer Competition, the SOCAN Emerging Screen Composers Award, and the 2024 Jean Piché Award (JTTP First Prize) for videomusic, new media, and creative coding.
