FusaiFusa is a dynamic musical ensemble operating at the intersection of Middle Eastern sounds and Afrobeat, Maghrebi rhythms and electronica, and Sufism and sub-Saharan culture. Spanning from Aleppo to Italy—via the Maghreb—they weave together countless human stories, creating the sound of a future world born from ancient cultures. The project emerged from the meeting of three talented artists: Kurdish-Syrian composer and multi-instrumentalist Ashti Abdo, Tunisian percussionist and electronic producer Taha Ennouri, and Tunisian Sufi singer-songwriter Ali Belazi; they are joined on bass by Federico Gueci from Palermo. The band’s name derives from an Arabic term evoking the concept of a mosaic, highlighting their shared commitment to building bridges between diverse sounds and eclectic rhythms, and to uniting varied sensibilities within a vision of music—and life—grounded in harmony among the parts and a connection to the whole.
