Lio really enjoys digging through old disc crates, figuring out obscure music samples and finding the music he loves the most in very random places. Not a DJ or a producer by profession in any mean, he loves spinning records and the face people make when an instant classic hits the needle. An avid internet radios consumer, he has gone to great lengths to visit the birthplace of these phenomena over the years and has followed his favorite DJs across the globe, finding some of the best tracks he still puts on today in obscure, late-night sets in small smokey clubs. He is hugely influenced and inspired by the club culture of the early 90s of Gilles Peterson, 3 Chairs, Nicola Conte, and Straight no Chaser Magazine, pioneering that there is no specific genre of music that you need to put in a club to make people dance as long as you follow the flow. Wherever they let him, he brings around “Lo Zio Ascolta”, a format he came up with years ago of complying playlists of music he really likes while chatting about stories on artists, records, concerts and people. More than anything, he really is just a huge fan of the culture. This is his radio debut.
